Make Lewes two day design and make workshop
A two day design and make workshop for architecture students and interested Lewes residents led by William Hardie used freshly milled Foxwood timber and recycled materials to build the Kinship.
The brief was to make a mobile structure that would provide a focus and shelter for Lewes community groups when working with the public in the town.

Planting a plat of cobnuts
We planted a plat of cobnuts last weekend. This is the traditional Sussex and Kent name for a plot of hazels. These trees all grew from nuts from our two cobs spread by squirrels in our own and our neighbours’ gardens. Thanks to the good people who planted them.
Walking through Foxwood today I saw primrose, blackthorn, wild garlic and hazel catkins, and bluebells sprouting in the ancient woodland. The deer are back – a group of twenty – too many – a threat to the woodland flora. And so much sound – the cries of three buzzards circling for an hour – was this courtship or something else? Also a woodpecker drumming, the song and alarm calls of robins, wrens, blue and great tits.
